A woman is facing multiple charges in Fulton County including aggravated assault on a corrections or law enforcement officer after an incident June 9, when dispatch received a call from a woman stating 34-year-old Jessica Wilkinson was breaking windows at her residence on Gibson Hill Road.

When deputies with the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department and officers with the Salem Police Department arrived on scene, they spoke with the caller who said the two women had gotten into an argument over Wilkinson’s alcohol consumption.

Things escalated and Wilkinson began breaking windows in the home. When the caller initially attempted to call 911, Wilkinson took the phone and broke it by throwing it against the wall.

The victim left the scene to meet officers and for her safety while Wilkinson continued to destroy the home.

When officers went to the residence, Wilkinson had left the residence in her vehicle and a traffic stop was initiated.

During the stop, officers noted a laceration on Wilkinson’s hand consistent with breaking glass.

Wilkinson told the officers she “had a bad day” and began drinking but had two shots in total. A field sobriety test was conducted, and several indicators were present indicating Wilkinson was intoxicated. A portable breath test was used and indicated a reading of .13.

When told she was being detained, Wilkinson ran from officers.

After being caught, Wilkinson began pulling away, fighting and kicked the officers several times, biting two of them in the process.

After successfully restraining Wilkinson, she began to harm herself by banging her head on the roadway.

She was transported to the Fulton County Detention Center and received treatment for her injuries.

As a result, Wilkinson has been charged with three counts of aggravated assault on a corrections or law enforcement officer, a class D felony; criminal mischief in the first degree; resisting arrest; interference with emergency communications, fleeing on foot and disorderly conduct.
