On February 4, 2023,the Izard County Sheriff’s Office received a call in reference to vandalism at the Old Philadelphia Church on the Larkin Road.
A deputy responded and met with the complaintant and observed an upside-down cross spray painted on the front of the Church. There was also a pentagram spray painted on the steps leading into the building. There were other upside-down crosses painted around the building. There was no vandalism located inside.

The Old Philadelphia Methodist Church is a long-standing landmark in Izard County which was constructed in 1857-8.
