If you’re in need of some new to you equipment, the Highland Future Farmers of America (FFA) are geared up and ready to host the annual FFA Consignment Auction which will be held at the A.L Hutson Center in Highland Oct. 7 beginning at 9 a.m..

According to Highland FFA President Danika Birkhead, this year’s consignment items offer bidders a wide variety to choose from.

“We have so many items this year and such a wide variety we have not had in past years, and I think there is going to be a big turnout this year,” Birkhead said. “We have a variety of tractors, a dozer that has an awesome startup, commercial kitchen equipment, an RV, trucks and cars, furniture our shop kids here at highland actually made, lots of four wheelers and many other items. There is even a vending machine.”

The auction will begin at 9 a.m. and those who intend to bid on items should arrive early to get their bidding number from the auction company.

Birkhead said the proceeds from the auction and concession stand will go to benefit students of the Highland FFA program in many ways.

“Every bit of the proceeds raised through the auction go in to supporting our chapter so we can travel and do conferences and competitions. We’re also going to have a concession stand and all of the proceeds from that go to our show team,” Birkhead said.

Items are currently on display in the parking lot of the A.L Hutson Center on the grounds of the Highland Schools. The community is invited and encouraged to attend the event and show their support for the students of the Highland FFA.
