The Fulton County Hospital announced it was making changes to its visitor policy by way of Facebook July 12.

“Due to the increased number of Covid-19 cases in our area, Fulton County Hospital is updating our current visitation policy in order to protect our patients and staff,” the hospital announced.

Although the changes were implemented July 9, the announcement was made public July 12.

“As of 7/9/21, only 1 visitor over the age of 14, per day, per patient will be allowed to visit patients admitted to the hospital during the hours of 4:00-6:00pm. No visitors will be allowed in the Emergency Department,” the hospital stated.

Some exceptions will be made.

“Exceptions for visitors can be made for patients who are 14 and under, patients who cannot communicate for themselves, patients who are critically ill, patients who are terminal, or as needed at the discretion of our staff,” the post read.

Additionally, the cafeteria and gift shop are closed to the public.

“If you have symptoms or believe you have been exposed to Covid-19, please remain in your vehicle and call 870-895-6019 before enter the facility so that our staff can safely assist you,” the hospital stated. “These changes will be in effect until further notice.”
