The Fall Rally of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML) will take place Oct. 2 at Peace Lutheran Church in Cherokee Village from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.
According to LWML member, Jean Crossett, the league will host members from all around northeast Arkansas. “We will host league members from Batesville, Jonesboro, Paragould, Horseshoe Bend, Mountain Home and the surrounding areas,” Crossett said. “Our theme this year is Armor of God based on the book of Ephesians.”
Membership is not required and all are welcome to attend.
At 1 p.m., a presentation from the Sharp County Search and Rescue Team will be given.
“This is a state certified volunteer group who work around the clock to help rescue any of our citizens in peril,” Crossett said. “Just ask Mary Lou Davis or Deb Weichinger how tireless their efforts were in locating rescuing their loved ones.”
The team will have their search and rescue trailer on display and a special appearance by Radar, the team’s search and rescue dog will take place.
“Come out to learn more about this amazing group and support those who serve our community,” Crossett said.
The cost to take part in the Armor of God program is $10 and includes lunch and the search and rescue team’s presentation.
The search and rescue presentation itself is free to the community.
