Well, It’s another Sunday morning. “So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.” 2 Corinthians 4: 16-18 (ESV)

Life on this rock is so short, one minute you are born and in a blink of an eye your walk is completed and you’re off to your eternal home. To me, it’s how we fill in the middle that makes us who we are. Our paths cross with so many other people on our way to what is inevitably waiting for us at our finish line. It’s our choice to either walk the narrow path with fewer people or go to the much wider path that so many have chosen. The wide path leads to the lake of fire and eternal damnation. See, God has set us on the narrow path, He has walked all of this out for us. Our Job is to complete the race with a good heart and compassion for others, and love to share with all His people. I have known several people that have met this benchmark standard. All of these people have been able to do this because of the knowledge and love they have of our great LORD and Savior Jesus Christ.

Even before we were conceived our Lord knew everything about us. He knew the path He would set us on. He knew when we would leave the path and when we would return to it. He knew every hair and what color it would be. He knew ever freckle, every birth mark, ever tooth, every ounce we would weigh. We would be perfect in His eyes. We read in Psalm 139:13-16 (ESV) this truth, “For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.”

The good news is written in John 14: 1-4 (ESV) where Jesus tells us this about this life walk we are on. He said, “Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. And you know the way to where I am going.” So if we believe in our God and give our hearts to Him,  and we walk the good path He has set us on, we will have an eternal home waiting for us with plenty of room for all. To me that is great news. I can’t imagine how wonderful this will be. To all those that have gone before us, we miss you terribly, but just a blink of an eye and we will be with them. I look forward to this, It warms me like a grandchild’s hug. It soothes me like a cup of hot tea.

Each and every one of us have something to offer others, we just need to do it. We can leave behind a lasting memory or some really great knowledge that can be shared with others for a very long time. We are not just walking this path to finish our race, but we are here to help others and share our love and faith with people we meet. We are to help others when we can. God wants us to do this. To love and be loved. To sing your song, not to yourself, but out loud. To read a poem to others with love in our hearts.

Drinking From The Saucer

by John Paul Moore

I’ve never made a fortune,

And I’ll never make one now

But it really doesn’t matter

‘Cause I’m happy anyhow

As I go along my journey

I’m reaping better than I’ve sowed

I’m drinking from the saucer

‘Cause my cup has overflowed

I don’t have a lot of riches,

And sometimes the going’s tough

But with kin and friends to love me

I think I’m rich enough

I thank God for the blessings

That His mercy has bestowed

I’m drinking from the saucer

‘Cause my cup has overflowed

He gives me strength and courage

When the way grows steep and rough

I’ll not ask for other blessings for

I’m already blessed enough

May we never be too busy

To help bear another’s load

Then we’ll all be drinking from the saucer

When our cups have overflowed

Philippians 4: 8-9 (ESV) “Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me–practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.” This writing is dedicated to all of our loved ones that has gone before us to their eternal home. They taught us to drink from the saucer and to turn all adversities into a stroll on this beautiful garden path. Please always remember brothers and sisters, God truly loves each and every one of you and so do I.
