Felony charges of domestic battery, aggravated assault on a family or household member and endangering the welfare of a minor have been filed in Fulton County against 28-year-old Tyler Jones and 27-year-old Saibrah Himschoot.

According to an affidavit of warrant for arrest for the couple, the charges filed July 24 stemmed from an incident in late June when an officer from the Cherokee village Police Department responded to a medical treatment facility after being notified of injuries to a child consistent with abuse.

Officers arrived on scene and spoke with the mother of the victim as well as the victim.

The injuries to the child were photographed and included a laceration to the child’s lip and extensive bruising on the child’s face, arms, back, legs and more.

An interview was conducted with the Crimes Against Children’s Division investigators who were told Jones and Himschoot would beat the victim causing bruises all over.

The victim stated Jones would push the victim, slam the victims head against the wall and that Himschoot had hit the victim in the mouth with a wooden paddle three times.

Jones was present when Himschoot hit the child.

The victim also had bruising to the ear which was a result of Himschoot pinching it.

Jones had also placed the victim in the floor and placed his foot close to the victim’s neck applying pressure to prevent the victim from being able to breathe.

As a result, both Himschoot and Jones have been charged with domestic battery, a class C felony; aggravated assault on a family or household member, a class D felony and endangering the welfare of a minor. Bond Jones and Himschoot was set at $10,000 each.
