The Izard County chess team was able to participate in a Chess Association for Arkansas Schools virtual chess tournament Feb. 15.
Junior Boys Division (41 players)
- Xander McCandlis finished 1st out of 41 with a record of 5-0.
- Keegan Johnson finished 8th
- Elijah Wilkes 11th
- Caleb Johnson 14th
- Jacob Stone finished 16th
- Jacob Kodrich and Josie Morgan also competed for the Cougars.
Senior Boys Division (79 players)
- Landon McBride finished 20th out of 79 with a record of 3-2
- Denton Reiley finished 34th
- Allan Densford
- Noah Stevenson also competed for the Cougars.
