Customers of St. Joseph’s Glen Utility Operating Company, in Cherokee Village can expect a 100 percent increase for services according to a letter mailed to existing customers recently.
St. Joseph’s Glen has been the community’s wastewater service provider since July, 2 of 2020 and over time, has worked to make improvements to services including upgrading and repairing critical components at the treatment facility, overhauling components of the pump station, installing a remote monitoring system at the treatment facility to detect problems before the affect the quality or reliability of services and more.
In the letter, investments made by the company in infrastructure and daily operations “will require an increase in the rates for your wastewater services. Your monthly rate will increase from $30 per month to $60 per month” beginning in mid-August.
Customers will have an opportunity to voice concerns or ask questions and are invited to participate in a ZOOM conference meeting Wednesday, July 27 at 6 p.m.
