Randy Hawkins, 56, of Cave City is in the custody of the Sharp County Detention Center awaiting the filing of formal charges for multiple felonies.

According to a release from the Sharp County Sheriff’s Department, the arrest stems from an incident during a probation parole search of his residence on Matlock Road in Cave City. While searching the residence, methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and a firearm were located.

Hawkins was placed under arrest and transported to the Sharp County Detention Center to be held awaiting the filing of formal charges of simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms, a class Y felony; possession of methamphetamine or cocaine with the purpose to deliver, a class A felony; possession of drug paraphernalia, a class B felony; possession of firearms by certain persons, a class B felony; possession of drug paraphernalia, a class D felony and enhancement of proximity to certain facilities.

The case stems from an ongoing investigation by the Sharp County Sheriff’s Department.
