A Cave City man is facing a slew of charges including battery in the first degree and kidnapping.
According to the affidavit for warrant of arrest filed April 24 for 36-year-old Joseph Anthony Walker, the charges stem from an incident on March 18 of this year, when authorities were notified of a nude woman (Victim 1) at a residence in Cave City who had allegedly been attacked by Walker wit ha knife.
When authorities arrived, they found the woman had sustained multiple stab wounds including a severe laceration to her head exposing her skull.
A second victim (Victim 2) was located a short distance down the road from the incident location and had also sustained multiple lacerations to her entire body.
Victim 2 said Walker had gotten angry and began yelling before pulling what she described as a Machete and proceeding to swing it at both victims cutting them all over.
Walker said the victims had been dropped off at his residence and that one of them had brandished a sward and hammer and began to strike him with it.
Walker had lacerations on his hands and legs.
On March 19, instigators interviewed Victim 1 at an area hospital. Victim 1 stated that Walker, all involved parties had been using methamphetamine for several days and on the day of the incident, Walker became irate accusing them of sealing his cellphone. Victim 1 said Walker grabbed a large kitchen knife and began striking her with it multiple times in various locations across her body.
He than made both victims go into the bathroom where he continued to strike them with a katana type sword causing extensive lacerations to both victims bodies.
Walker then took the victim’s phones and destroyed them stating they weren’t calling the cops or leaving.
Victim 1 was able to escape and fled running into the wood line with Walker perusing her.
Walker then grabbed Victim 1 by the hair and drug her toward the residence before getting caught in a barbed wire fence which caused the cuts to his legs and hands.
Victim 1 stated after breaking free, she was able to run underneath the house, crawling into a crawl space and exiting through the underpinning of the front side of the house and was able to reach a neighbors residence to call for help.
Once help had arrived, Victim 1 was transported by ambulance for treatment.
Officers were able to locate Walker at a residence up the road from his house and he was taken into custody and transported to the Sharp County Detention Center.
After obtaining search warrants, authorities discovered multiple items involved including a knife, sword and multiple drug related items.
The drug items found contained a white powdery substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine. Approximately six grams of methamphetamine were also seized.
As a result, Walker faces two counts of battery in the first degree, class B felony; two counts of kidnapping, class B felony; two counts of interference with emergency communication In the first degree, class a misdemeanor; one count possession of a controlled substance, a class D felony; one count possession of drug paraphernalia a class D felony.
Walker has been ordered to have no contact with the victims, his bond was set at $15,000 and he has since been released.
