Charges were filed against a Cave City man in Sharp County Dec. 27 following a domestic incident which occurred last month.

According to the affidavit for warrant of arrest for Randall Burton Jr., 33, on Nov. 29 authorities were dispatched to Burton’s residence.

When they arrived, they spoke with the victim who stated Burton had pulled her hair, struck her and threatened to kill her when she attempted to flee from him.

Sharp County Sheriff Mark Counts, Deputy Greg Stewart and Detective Cody Bailey cleared the residence to check for other individuals who may have been in the home. While doing so, officers discovered a stack of cash, digital scales, grinder, glass smoking device and more in the kitchen area.

A search warrant was then obtained and when executed, two handguns, traditional and synthetic marijuana, a baggie with white crystalline residue and more was seized.

Burton was placed under arrest and charged with two counts of possession of firearms by certain persons, a class B felony; terroristic threatening, a class D felony; possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to manufacture, a class B felony; possession of a controlled substance a class C felony and simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms, a class Y felony.

In a separate instance filed Dec. 27, Burton has additional charges of impairing operation of a vital public facility – damage property or incapacitate operator, a class C felony; disorderly conduct, a class C misdemeanor and criminal mischief in the second degree, a class A misdemeanor.
