One man in Izard County is facing multiple felony charges after authorities received a call of 37-year-old Joshua Cagle who was reportedly passed out in a vehicle in front of a residence.

When the authorities arrived, they were warned Cagle was in possession of a firearm and multiple narcotics.

Investigator Geoffrey Watts observed Cagle passed out, slumped forward in the driver’s seat of his Jeep and the odor of marijuana was immediately present as was the marijuana cigarette visible still in Cagle’s left hand.

Watts noted a green styled backpack which he had reason to believe was the one mentioned on numerous occasions by individuals submitting information anonymously.

Cagle began to wake at which time Watts gave commands for him to exit the vehicle. He complied and began asking what the officers were doing there.

Before conducting a probable cause search, officers located a hypodermic syringe with trace amounts of liquid in it in Cagle’s pocket.

Watts then began the search which yielded a large volume of narcotics, drug paraphernalia, firearm and more.

The lengthy list of items confiscated included fentanyl, amphetamine, benzodiazepine and more.

Cagle was placed under arrest and transported to the Izard County Detention Center where he was charged with possession of fentanyl with purpose to deliver, a class A felony; possession with purpose to deliver methamphetamine, a class A felony; possession with purpose to deliver schedule III controlled substance, a class C felony; possession with purpose to deliver a schedule IV controlled substance, a class D felony; possession of drug paraphernalia with purpose to inject, methamphetamine, a class D felony; simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms, a class Y felony; felon in possession of a firearm, a class D felony and possession of a schedule VI controlled substance, a class A misdemeanor.
