The Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) released its Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) for 2025-2028 Federal Fiscal Years, here is a list of projects scheduled to take place in the tri-county area.
FULTON COUNTY
– Work to be on bridge over Pine Hill Creek on State Highway 395 at a cost of $2.1 million in 2025.
– Repaving State Highway 9 from U.S. Highway 63 to State Highway 395 and from Highway 395 to U.S. Highway 62.
– Making improvements to 12.73 miles of State Highways 175 and 175 Spur in Fulton and Sharp counties.
– Making improvements to Hwy 63 from Hwy 342 to the Sharp County Line.
IZARD COUNTY
– Work to be done on the bridge over Calico Creek on State Highway 56 at a cost of $3.3 million in 2026.
– Work to be done on the bridge over Hars Creek on State Highway 56 at a cost of $2.5 million in 2027.
– Repaving State Highway 9 from the Stone County line to Brandenburg and from State Highway 69 to State Highway 56.
– Repaving Hwy 69 to Hwy 56s a 6.41 miles section of roadway.
– Repaving State Highway 56 from State Highway 223 to Brockwell and from Highway 223 to State Highway 5.
– Structure and approaches improvements to Hwy 56 at Piney Creek.
SHARP COUNTY
– Structures and approaches improvements including but not limited to bridge replacement and grade separation will be made to a section of Hwy 63 near Martin Creek in 2026.
– Structures and approaches on Hwy 175 and Hwy 175S in Cherokee Village currently underway.
– Repaving Hwy 9 to Hwy 167 S, a 20.17 miles stretch of roadway in both Izard and Sharp Counties.
