August 25, 2018, forever altered the life of Terry Boswell, Jr. It was the day he embraced fatherhood, and from that moment, his world was irrevocably changed. But as Trey’s fifth birthday approaches this Friday, Terry will be confronted with a painful reality—he won’t be celebrating with his cherished son.

Trey’s abduction on July 22, 2022, at the hands of his non-custodial mother, Kayla Renae Boswell, has left a void that Terry Boswell Jr. and his family struggle to comprehend. A felony warrant has been issued against Kayla, and the diligent efforts of the Cherokee Village Police Department are focused on locating both mother and son.

As Trey’s fifth birthday came and went, it should have been a moment of celebration – where he would no doubt have been receiving dinosaur themed gifts due to his immense love and knowledge of the Jurassic giants. Instead, it looms as a somber occasion, overshadowed by the absence of the young boy. This milestone should be a time of togetherness with family and friends, not a stark reminder of an unresolved disappearance. In an emotional plea, Trey’s father, Terry, sends a heartfelt message to his son, “Trey, I love you and miss you.

Happy birthday, I can’t wait to see you and see how you’ve grown. Dad and all your family love and miss you.”

Investigator Hutchins of the Cherokee Village Police Department underscores their unwavering commitment, stating, “The priority is to find Trey, and we are doing everything we can to do that. Regardless of how much time passes, we will not stop until we have those answers.” The community is urged to play a vital role in this search. Any information that may contribute to Trey’s safe return is desperately sought. Sightings, tips, or leads should be promptly reported to the Cherokee Village Police Department at 1-870-257-5225 or the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children at 1-800-843-5678/1-800-THE-LOST.
