As a believer in Christ, Satan seems to be on the offensive a lot. He wants us to live out our past in our mind. He wants our focus to be on our past mistakes. If he can successfully keep us looking behind and thinking about where we have been along with what we have done wrong, he has us stuck. He wants us to be focused on the negative.

Covid has us in a rut. We have been spinning our wheels unable to get out of that rut. The more we spin the deeper we are stuck. We are so focused on what we can’t do that we fail to see what we can do. We can still love God and love others. No virus can stop our souls. It can go after our bodies, but love is from the soul and that is secure in those who know Jesus as their personal Savior.

The time has come for us to move forward! Remember the old Gospel Hymn Onward Christian Soldiers? “Onward, Christian soldiers, marching as to war, With the cross of Jesus going on before!” We need to do that for our Lord and Savior. Yes, we are living in a different world than we did pre-Covid. That means we seek godly wisdom and continue to spread the gospel in this world. We take necessary precautions when needed but Satan cannot shut down the spread of the gospel. We shall march onward for Jesus.

With that said, Satan will step up his attacks on us. He will do whatever he can to get us to return to doom and gloom thinking. Tell him in the name of Jesus to get behind you! He will run! Move forward and pick up the pace. He can’t win with Jesus on our side.

Paul tells us in Philippians 3:12-14 ESV “Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”

We all need to be encouraged to get out of that rut we are stuck in and get moving again for Christ. Time is a wasting away and we need to “get ‘er done” for Jesus! He does not want us living in our past. He has forgiven those sins and he will forgive any wrongs you do if you ask Him. Not as a license to sin but He paid it all on the Cross. We will all make mistakes. He loves us too much to leave us there. He will leave the 99 and find us and bring us back in His arms.

God has great plans for all our lives. It is always a surprise, so I think He likes surprises. We must try new things as we go forward. It is time to adjust and conquer. We need to be Strong and Courageous!

The enemy tries to keep us living in fear so we can’t move forward. Nonsense! We are not going to live out our remaining years in fear. God will lead us straight through our fears into His will for our lives.

God doesn’t want us to live timid, shy, weak, wimpy, fearful, boring lives. He wants us to be bold, confident and courageous, unafraid to try new things. And it never ceases to amaze me what God will do through a person who simply steps out in faith.

So let’s move onward now for Christ and watch what he will do along side those who will go forward in faith trusting Him to be right there with us.

Tuff tacos Satan, you better move aside because the Gospel is coming through. Lead on Jesus!!!
