A man who tested positive for methamphetamine is facing felony charges in Fulton County after stealing a UTV and then called police asking to be let inside some one else’s home.
According to the affidavit file June 24, on June 22, Deputy Phil Story was dispatched to 4858 Byron Road for a male subject asking to be let inside the home.
When the officer arrived on scene, he spoke with a nearby tenant who stated at 10:29 a.m. a white male drove through her yard on a UTV at a high rate of speed and parked behind her house.
The witness stated the man, later identified as 56-year-old Charles Blosl, then took off running to her in laws house and was on the porch.
Deputy Story and another deputy found Blosl on the porch of the home stating he was looking for a friend.
Blosl had slurred speech and smelled of intoxicants.
When asked where he obtained the side-by-side, Blosl stated “some guy on Greasy Creek Road”.
He was placed under arrest and transported to the Fulton County Jail, initially charged with public intoxication and criminal trespassing.
At that time, the UTV had not yet been reported stolen, however, after several hours, the owner was found.
The owner of the UTV had video footage of his side by side leaving at 10:17 a.m.
Due to the time and location of the respective residences, Blosl did not have enough time to get the UTV from any location on Greasy Creek Road.
On June 23, Blosl was interviewed at the Fulton County Jail and stated someone was chasing him and that he was scared for his life.
He stated he had gone to the first location to use a phone but when no one was there, he took the UTV to get away from whoever was chasing him.
Blosl tested positive for Methamphetamine upon being booked in to the Fulton County Jail.
As a result, Blosl has been charged with criminal trespass with possession of a prohibited device or tool, a class C felony; public intoxication and theft of property more than $5,000 but less than $25,000.
His bond was set at $15,000.
