The community is invited and encouraged to attend the 2nd Annual Car Show and Shine to be held Sept. 16 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Peace Lutheran Church in Cherokee Village.
According to Dawn Braun the event is to help raise awareness and funds for the New Beginnings Pregnancy Help Center.
“This is a free family fun fundraiser, and it is community helping community,” Braun said.
When asked why the organization chose a car show, Braun said it is a multipurpose event and although the funds will be given to the pregnancy center, they are earmarked for car seats.
“This is to support having every young child safely secured in a quality car seat while traveling. This will help young families in our area. Car seats now cost over $100 each and so this will be a real blessing for many struggling families,” Braun said.
The show is open to vehicles of all years and models and will offer free hot dogs and ice cream.
“This is about glorifying Christ in our community,” Braun said. “Please plan on attending and inviting people you know to come out and join in this community event. It will be fun, and we can work together to help others.”
