February 2021 NEWSLETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT Dear Chamber Member: Time is just flying by in this new year and I cannot believe it is already February. As the pandemic continues, there is certainly a strain placed on many of our local businesses. From trying to operate under the ever-changing guidelines to serving the community to the best of their ability, we need each other. There are some silver linings in the coming weeks. For example, Valentine’s Day will be here before we know it and what better way to show love then to support your local businesses! Recently, several organizations have come together with the fantastic idea of choosing another organization as their Valentine! Although it is nice to get away once in a while, I would recommend celebrating the holiday in your hometown this year – whether it’s purchasing flowers from one of your local florists, making reservations for dinner at one of our many restaurants, purchasing something special for your loved one, or catching a show at the local theater. However you decide, do it close to home. (We’ve listed some great ideas to shop, eat, or purchase from our local members below!) I would encourage all of us to go the extra mile to show kindness in the coming days. Support one another, finding ways to lift one another up and working hard to make our community come together. Efforts to create growth for some new businesses have come to fruition with the addition of a new auction house soon to be open in Hardy, the Dollar General in Cherokee Village which is now open, educational opportunities and job creation through Emerson and Ozarka College in Ash Flat and more. I would also like to remind our members to take full advantage of your memberships. If you have a great deal or special going, please let us know so we can advertise it for you. Trying to draw more foot or online traffic? Let us know so we can help get the word out. Lauren Siebert2021 SRACC President Valentines Day is just around the corner.
