(Batesville, Ark) – White River Health (WRH) hosted a Groundbreaking for the WRH Oncology & Infusion Center expansion. The expansion addresses the need for additional space to serve patients and families during their treatment journey. Site preparation work is scheduled to begin in December. The project architect is Cromwell Architects Engineers, and the general contractor is FARCO.

The project is funded by the generosity of donors to a capital campaign conducted by White River Health Foundation. Anchored by lead donors Bad Boy Mowers and First Community Bank, the campaign raised $5.4M for the project to date. The campaign includes grants from the Delta Regional Authority and Mabee Foundation, private donors, and employee donors. The campaign demonstrates a commitment by our organization and our donors to deliver world class cancer treatment locally.

The new facility expands the current facility from 4,831 to 11,649 square feet. The expansion increases treatment capacity and enhances privacy and comfort for patients and families.

It provides space for nutritional support, upgrades to the oncology pharmacy, and improved work areas for nursing staff. The project also adds a covered entrance for safer access during inclement weather, a larger waiting room, and a healing garden and patio offering a calming environment during treatment.

“This is an exciting day for our hospital and for the patients that we serve,” said Steven Webb,

President & CEO of WRH. “This expansion begins a new era of world-class comprehensive cancer care right here at home.”
