White River Health (WRH) hosted a meet and greet for their newest Chief Executive Officer (CEO) July 17 at White River Health’s specialty clinics in Cherokee Village.
Steven Webb, worked for White River Health initially as the Chief Operating Officer beginning in July of last year, and following a competitive and rigorous search, was selected in May of this year to replace former CEO Gary Paxon.
“I’m very fortunate to be able to work with a great team. We have a lot of good people that work in this organization who care about their neighbors and community. That’s the thing I want to see us continue to do. Take care of our neighbors and loved ones. I want to continue that tradition of service. I think that’s the most important goal I have. That we provide access and high quality care to those we serve,” Webb said.
Now serving in the capacity of CEO, Webb was asked what changes he would implement now that he is in a position to do so. He didn’t hesitate stating changes had already been made and the growth of WRH was evident.
“We’ve done a lot of things differently over the past year and are always looking for ways we can improve our organization and access. I think we’ve done a good job. We’ve seen significant growth in our organization and we want to continue to grow and serve these communities,” Webb said. “We don’t want anyone to be sick, but when they are sick, we want to be there and so we’re focused on prevention and keeping people healthy. Access to care is important to us.”
WRH currently operates 36 clinics across much of northern Arkansas. It also operates two hospitals, one in Batesville and one in Fulton County and has claim to the first Satellite Emergency Room in the state, which is located in Cherokee Village in Sharp County.
