White River Health is actively negotiating with UnitedHealthcare to secure a fair and sustainable agreement that protects patient access in our region. If a new agreement is not reached by March 31, UnitedHealthcare could force our system out-of-network, potentially increasing costs for patients.
Care remains uninterrupted through March 31, but patients covered by a UHC commercial or Medicare Advantage health plan may take the following actions:
- Medicare Advantage members: Medicare’s Open Enrollment Period runs through March 31, 2026. During this time, you may work with a trusted broker to select a desirable plan that includes in-network access to White River Health for 2026.
- Contact UnitedHealthcare: Call the number on the back of your insurance card and let them know that continued access to White River Health matters to you.
- Continuity of Care: If you are pregnant or managing a chronic condition, contact UnitedHealthcare to request Continuity of Care. If approved, this may allow you to continue receiving care at White River Health after the contract ends. While we cannot submit this request on your behalf, our team can help guide you through the process.
- Employer-sponsored coverage: If your insurance is provided through your employer, speak with your Human Resources representative about your options and the importance of access to White River Health.
