Anthony Caplinger, the man wanted by police in Fulton and Sharp County was taken into custody shortly after midnight Oct. 4.
According to Hardy Police Chief Scott Rose, at approximately 7:30 a.m. Oct. 3, two suspects were encountered inside a residence on Booth Road in Hardy, just over the Fulton County Line.
It was discovered the suspects were squatting and a third suspect had fled as officers arrived.
At the time, authorities notified the public that Caplinger was wanted and was to be considered armed and dangerous.
Caplinger had a small handgun and fled into the woods of Slayton Road near Hardy.
The search began as deputies with the Sharp and Fulton County Police Department, Highland Police Department, Hardy Police Department and Arkansas Game and Fish Commission sought Caplinger.
The U.S. Marshal Service was also alerted asCaplinger was actively fleeing from two weapons related felony charges out of California.
On Oct. 4, Caplinger was apprehended after he was found trying to enter the McDonalds in Hardy around 12:30 a.m. Caplinger was transported to the Fulton County Jail where he is being held.
