A Benefit Raffle for the family of Deputy Sean Hunt is being held. Tickets are $50 each and the winner will receive a weekend paid at The Cabins at Spiritual Lake located in Oxford. The package includes a two-night stay and a guided hog hunt for a group of four. All proceeds will go directly to Katie Smith and Lincoln Hunt. The drawing will be held March 19. A Swing into Spring Dinner and Auction Fundraiser for the Creator’s Christian Academy located 6 Iroquois Drive in Cherokee Village will be held March 11 with a silent auction from 5 to 6 p.m. and dinner to be held at 6 p.m. Tickets are $15 and include Chicken or Pork Medallions with sides, bread, salad and dessert. The Highland Elks Lodge #2539 Turkey Shoot is Saturday, March 18 at 15 Elks Lane in Cherokee Village. The shoot starts at 10 a.m. and the entry fee is $25 for all rounds or $3 per round. Only 12-gauge shotguns may be used for the shoot. Prizes of ham or turkey will be awarded. Prior to the shoot, breakfast by donation will be served from 8 a.m. until 10 p.m. and will include bacon, egg cooked to order, hash browns and biscuit and gravy or French toast. The Sidney St. Patrick’s Day celebration will take place March 18 and feature food trucks, vendors, crafts, potato decorating contest, a parade at 1 p.m., local entertainment by Isabella Love and a BBQ Chicken and Bingo to end out the evening. The community is encouraged and invited to attend the Sidney St. Patrick’s Day celebration held in the center of town.

Blair is battling stage four throat cancer. Friends of Horseshoe Bend Animals will hold a bowling tournament April 1 with registration beginning at 11:30 and bowling to begin at 12 noonat Frontier Lanes in Ash Flat. The Sharp County Fair 2nd Annual Spring Car Show will be held April 15th at the Sharp County Fairgrounds.
