A Fulton County couple faces felony charges after the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department received reports property had been taken from a commercial property formerly known as Lynn’s Salvage.
According to the reports, the property owner told authorities that 36-year-old Dusty Reynolds had removed property from the scrap yard that didn’t belong to him and had unplugged the security system in the office. She also told authorities the DVR from the security system was missing.
Other items missing from the property included a Landoll trailer, mobile home hauler, chop saw and boxes of copper wire.
During the investigation, authorities spoke to Reynolds, who stated he took the DVR to “look at some footage”, He also stated he had taken the Landoll trailer to allegedly do a job but had left it in another location due to some mechanical issues.
Footage from the DVR showed Reynolds in the office on two separate nights, Jan. 10 and Jan. 13. Reynolds was shown on the night of the 13th in the office for a period of time behind the cameras before the footage was stopped due to being unplugged or turned off.
Both evenings Reynolds was on the property, the cameras had been unplugged or turned off. The total value of items taken was greater than $25,000.
During the investigation, a second arrest was made when authorities discovered the security system in plain sight in the back seat of a pickup that is registered to Reynold’s girlfriend, 32-year-old Amber Taylor.
In an interview with Taylor, she stated she knew about the items being in the floorboard and back seat of her truck and stated her boyfriend wanted to watch footage from the DVR system.
A search of the ACIC/NCIC showed Taylor to have been convicted of four or more felonies previously and to be on active supervised parole with a search waiver on file.
As a result, Taylor has been charged with commercial burglary, a class C felony and theft of property, a class A misdemeanor. Reynolds has been charged with theft of property, a class C felony; commercial burglary, a class C felony and as a habitual offender, which is an unclassified felony enhancement.
Bond for Reynolds was set at $25,000 and bond for Taylor at $5,000.
