Some recipes are just simple comfort foods from the past. Tuna and macaroni go well together and this makes an easy, inexpensive, cooling salad side for nearly any casual meal.

Substitute thawed frozen peas if you’d like. Leave them out if you don’t like them. Skip the pimentos if you don’t have them, or sustitute some chopped green peppers. The sky is the limit.

If you would like this to stick together a little, try a tad of mayonaise or miracle whip to bind it together.

Recipes for salads don’t have to be followed exactly. Unlike baked goods where a certain amount of chemistry is involved, salads are all about refreshing flavors. There’s lots of space to make them your own!
