Salem Praise and Worship Fellowship invites you to an evening of Gospel Music with a new servant of the Lord. Marcus Montana also known as Tru-Serva to his music audience is a passionate man whose mission is to help others find true life. Growing up in a single parent home in Lacombe, Louisiana just outside of New Orleans, he was forced to raise himself while his mom worked two jobs to provide for the family. Trapped in a materialistic society he chased after self –satisfaction, experiencing a void of true love. He was left broken after a long pursuit to fill that void. Until one day at age 16, at the end of his rope, drained from the emptiness of unfulfilling pleasure, he came face to face with Jesus Christ. He chose to take a spiritual step and committed to a personal relationship with Jesus.
From a young age Hip-Hop and rap music had influenced his style, language, and attitude. Tru felt a calling to use his talent of Hip-Hop which felt natural to him to reach people and help change lives. Through his rap music he portrays a powerful message of the cross and of a positive change through a relationship with our Lord and Savior. He sees himself as an overcomer and an example of hope to many. Stepping out and above the trap of being an African American male dead or locked up from a worldly walk. He believes the walls and barriers of the church need to fall and people need to get out of their seats and seek those in need of a relationship with Christ. Tru strives to see a connection between generations, being able to speak to both kids and adults alike.
His music encourages listeners to live with integrity through God’s Holy Word and Hip-Hop. He now resides in Minneapolis, Minnesota with his wife and 4 children and is a pastor of City Transformation at Redeeming Love Church. He studied Biblical Studies/Business at Trinity Bible College. He is CEO and Founder of Trans4mation Records, and has recently teamed up with Pulse Evangelism, an organization that equips the next generation to use their creative gifts and unique qualities to improve their communities through the characteristics of compassion, empathy, ambition, and discipline. His engaging and dynamic messages ignite passion, expand perspectives, and changes lives.
