The Fifth Annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner ready for pickup at the Cherokee Village United Methodist Church will be provided free of charge on Thanksgiving day, but you must make a reservation by November 17, 2022.

Organizers project that more than 500 people will be served this year by volunteers from the Cherokee Village Volunteer Fire Department and the CVUMC Church Team. The meal will consist of turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, rolls, and pumpkin pie, all purchased and prepared by these orgainzations.

Organizers realize the importance of this event, as families or individuals might not otherwise have a true Thanksgiving meal. So that enough food is ordered and prepared, reservations are required and must be called in no later than Thursday, November 17th.

To order the free dinners, call Cherokee Village United Methodist Church between 12:30 p.m. and 3 p.m., Tuesday through Thursday, at (870) 257-3869. When making a reservation, you will be asked to provide the number of meals needed and the approximate time between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. that you will pick up the meals on Thanksgiving Day. You will also need to provide contact information such as a phone number or an email address.

Due to generous donations from businesses and community members last year, there were funds remaining in the account to use for this year. If you would like to make a monetary donation to this event, you may drop off donations at the Cherokee Village UMC or Cherokee Village Fire Department. If writing a check, make sure to note “Thanksgiving dinner” in the memo.

Cherokee Village United Methodist Church is located at 21 Otter Drive, Cherokee Village, Ark.
