“The trumpeters and singers joined together to praise and thank the Lord with one voice. They raised their voices, accompanied by trumpets, cymbals, and musical instruments in praise to the Lord; For He is good; His faithful love endures forever. The temple, the Lord’s temple, was filled with a cloud. And because of the cloud, the priests were not able to continue ministering, for the glory of the Lord filled God’s temple.” 2 Chronicles 5:13-14
Can you imagine what this looked like? The temple was filled with God’s presence! My heart longs for this type of worship. Something extraordinary happens when believers come together, in His name, and focus our collective attention on His goodness and grace. God enters the place and blesses each one of us with His very presence.
As we continue moving in this uncertain time, let us use every opportunity we get to praise Him for all His goodness and then remain in a spirit of thanksgiving. Although we cannot all meet like we used to, we can still praise Him right where we are, even if that means we are in front of a TV screen or a Laptop. Jesus promised to never leave us or forsake us. This means He is always with us and since He is always with us why not thank Him for His constant presence and praise Him, now, in this moment?
He will be there. His spirit will fill us up. We are His temple, where He lives.
How great is our God?? Let’s take the time to tell Him.
On social media, I have seen many people post every day during November to share something they are thankful for. Why wait until November?? Why wait until we are all gathered again?? Why not thank Him today for His mercy, grace, and love?
We have so much to be thankful for:
A God who gives grace to those who do not deserve it.
A God who looks beyond what we see in ourselves to see what He made each of us to become.
A God who is the very definition of love and forgiveness.
No one deserves His grace and mercy, yet He freely pours His Spirit into us.
What a God! What a Savior!
We do not have to wait until November to list all of the things we are thankful for, and we certainly do not have to wait until we can all be together to praise Him for all of His goodness in our lives.
