During the month of November the local TOPS Club, Inc. (Taking Off Pounds Sensibly), Chapter AR0239, Cherokee Village, celebrated the graduation to KOPS (Keeping Off Pounds Sensibly) of four (4) of our TOPS members for successfully achieving their personal weight loss goal.

Ms Linda Wedig began her weight loss journey with some success years before moving to the area.  It wasn’t’ until she joined TOPS in 2022that Linda really saw her newly learned healthy habits payoff and the pounds start coming off.  With the support and education through TOPS, Linda is celebrating a loss of 33.2 lbs. TOPS congratulates Linda for her total weight loss of 80 lbs.

Ms Kay Myers began her weight loss journey in 2020, joining TOPS Cherokee Village in an effort to combat some weight related family health problems. Shortly after joining (2021), her concerns were confirmed when a health emergency forced Kay to take a leave from TOPS. Through recovery and rehabilitation, Kay fostered her determination to overcome the new setbacks and to, also, return to TOPS. By 2022, with her husband’s help, Kay had overcome many of the setbacks and returned to TOPS more determined to succeed. July 2024, Kay proudly celebrated her total 54 lb weight loss goal achievement and graduation to a KOPS.

Ms Ruth Maxedon found TOPS in 2022, when she was looking for a support group to help her through her physician recommended weight loss.  Ruth’s weight loss journey also accompanied several health challenges, but she credits the support of her TOPS members for keeping her on track.  This August, Ruth celebrated all her hard work and new founded healthy habits by graduating to a KOPS with a total weight loss of 25.4 lbs.

Ms Pat Campbell is a transferred TOPS member after she moved to the area. Originally joining TOPS in 2015, Pat was sure happy to find a TOPS chapter locally so she could continue getting the weight loss support she’d grown to know and love.  This October, Pat celebrated her weight loss journey, joining the 2024 Class of Graduates, by becoming our 4th TOPS member to gain her KOPS status after a total weight loss of 67 lbs.
