I love to encourage others in their walk with the Lord. We all need encouragement. It feels good deep in our hearts when someone sends us an encouraging text or message. Even at work If a co-worker makes a comment about how well you did your job on something, it feels good for the soul. If our boss makes a comment and thanks us for a job well done it is a much-appreciated encouragement.

One of the coolest ways to encourage someone that you love is to stuff their mailbox. I have been a part of this cool adventure several times and it is a very rewarding experience. Here is what you do. Contact people who know the person you are wanting to encourage. Ask them to hand write a note of encouragement to this person, seal it in an envelope and mail it on a specific date. The person you are encouraging will get almost all these notes on the same day in their mailbox. They will have no idea who organized this idea but will be so thankful and lifted for the thoughtfulness that went into it.

I have seen this done for people who are battling cancer and the encouragement brought so much joy to the life of that person. It told her heart she was loved, and she was being prayed for and thought of. She was not forgotten. I have seen this done for a pastor and it really lifted them out of a hole they felt they were slipping into.

Find someone. Let God speak to your heart about who in your life needs to have their mailbox stuffed with letters of encouragement. Then act on it and organize it. It will be fun. You will be blessed from God for your efforts and the person who receives the letters will also be blessed.

I know an encouraging text means a lot. But when someone gets a handwritten letter, in the mail, from a friend and they are holding it and crying as they read it, it means more, so much more.

God wants us to encourage one another in life. Life is full of challenges. We all go through trials and situations of many kinds. Let’s be encouragers to one another and be a blessing to each other. That is what puts a smile on God’s face. See what his Word tells us to do.

1 Thessalonians 5:11 ESV “Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.”

Hebrews 10:23-25 ESV “Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.”

1 Peter 4:8-10 ESV “Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins. Show hospitality to one another without grumbling. As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace.”

May God bless you in your life as you strive to be an encourager for Him.
