Our area has experienced significant rainfall over the last 24 hours. The Spring River stream gauge at the Spring Street Bridge in Hardy reported 4 feet on April 28 before the rain, followed by 14.8 feet today at 6:45 a.m., indicating a 10.8-foot rise in the level of the water. Widespread damage has been reported along the river, low-lying areas, back roads and surprisingly some paved roadways.
Emergency response personnel have been busy. Here are some pictures of the flooding and damage in the area.
