On August 7th, 2024 several pieces of farm equipment valued at more than $212,000 were stolen in Sharp County. These items were a Kubota Tractor and hay rake and a John Deere 5100E Tractor and a John Deere 460M Hay Bailer.
On August 8th, 2024 the Kubota Tractor and hay rake were recovered in the woods in the Strawberry area, however, the John Deere 5100E Tractor and John Deere Hay Bailer were not. The Sharp County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division initiated an investigation and also sent out information on social media requesting the public’s assistance in locating these items and asking for any information as to the identity of the person or persons responsible for the thefts.
On August 12th the John Deere Tractor and John Deere Hay Bailer were also located and recovered in the woods in the Strawberry area. All of the stolen farm equipment in this case have been recovered.
This investigation is still ongoing and arrests of the person/persons responsible are imminent. Booth, along with special agents assigned to the 3rd Judicial Drug Task Force for their time, talent, and resources, which were instrumental in finding the stolen items.
