An exciting announcement has been made by the Sharp County Fair.
According to Chelsea Conway, Sharp County Fair Board Advisor, the fair will honor long time festival Eagle Fest. The Eagles were the mascot of the Ash Flat school before consolidation of the Ash Flat and Hardy schools which formed the Highland School District more than 50 years ago.
“The Sharp County fair will now be working with those that put on “Ash Flat Eagle Fest’ and having ‘Eagle Feat Day’ at the fair on Thursday, July 8th,” Conway said.
That evening will kick off with a concert at the rodeo arena at 5 p.m. The Eagles will then be recognised at the start of the PRCA rodeo and throughout the 2-night rodeo events.
“If you are a former Ash Flat Eagle, call the Sharp County Extension office so we can get you signed up for these events and more details on other exclusives for you,” Conway said.
The Sharp County Extension office is open Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:00pm (closed 12 noon to 1 p.m. for lunch) and the phone number is 870-994-7363.
