Nonprofits in Sharp County can go to arcf.org/givingtreebeginning January 10 to apply online for Giving Tree Grants through Sharp County Community Foundation, an affiliate of Arkansas Community Foundation. Applications must be submitted online by February 15.
“Since our affiliate was formed in 2007, we’ve awarded $440,000 in grants to benefit Sharp County,” said Dan Milligan,Executive Director of Sharp County Community Foundation.“Our goal is to be able to strengthen our community by supporting important causes like education, health and community development.”
Grants will be for $2500. Requests for all types of grants will be considered, but the Community Foundation is especially interested in awarding grants that address early childhood literacy, food security and reducing childhood obesity through physical activity. Priority is given to organizations based in Sharp County; however, the Community Foundation will consider applications from organizations based in other areas if they can demonstrate that their program will provide direct services to people in Sharp County.
Nonprofits can visit arcf.org/givingtree to view Giving Tree grant submission guidelines, criteria and to begin the application process. Follow Sharp County Community Foundation on Facebook for additional information and opportunities.
Any IRS 501(c)(3) public charity, public school or government agency in Sharp County is eligible to apply. Grants are not made to individuals. Applications will be reviewed by a grantmaking committee from Sharp County Community Foundation.
