Forecasted heavy to excessive rainfall over OK and NW Arkansas will remain a concern this week given multiple rounds of precipitation over already saturated soils and elevated streamflow. Although the lower Arkansas River is not currently expected to reach flood stage, it is expected to rise and flows will remain elevated through the end of the week (50-100K cfs). Rainfall trends will be monitored closely above the White River which is currently above flood stage below Newport.
