The Cherokee Village Police Department and Arkansas State Police have released the identity of the human remains found at a home in Cherokee Village in July of this year.
According to Detective Sargent John Hutchins with the Cherokee Village Police Department, the body was identified as 54-year-old Dana Deprow.
“She was identified through DNA testing. They got DNA samples from a family member and the crime lab determined it was Dana Deprow who was the daughter of the homeowner,” Hutchins said.
According to authorities, on July 8 they were notified of the discovery of skeletal remains which was found in an abandoned home on Saginaw Circle.
“Patrolman Richard Crowe was sent for a welfare check to the home. The door was open so he gained entry and found the remains,” Cherokee Village Police Chief Monte Lane said.
Following the investigation, Hutchins said no foul play is suspected.
