POCAHONTAS, AR – Several local economic development organizations are partnering to host a regional Job Fair and Career Expo at Black River Technical College (BRTC) in Pocahontas on Thursday, April 24, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Co-hosted by NEA Intermodal, the Randolph County Chamber of Commerce, the Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce, and BRTC, job seekers will have access to more than 25 employers offering over 500 job opportunities throughout Northeast Arkansas.
Opportunities will include both entry-level and skilled positions across industries such as healthcare and manufacturing. Several second-chance employers will also be in attendance. Full-time, part-time, and seasonal positions will be available. In addition to meeting with local employers, attendees can also connect with representatives from Black River Technical College, who will be on hand to assist with class enrollment and career training opportunities. The job fair will open with a student-only hour from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m., organized in partnership with local career coaches. During this hour, students will have one-on-one access to human resources professionals and attend career education panels where employers will share insights on their operations, company culture, and what makes a strong candidate.
The event opens to the public at 10:00 a.m. Admission is free for both employers and job seekers.
“The NEA Intermodal, along with our regional chamber partners, is committed to identifying economic development opportunities and marketing our area to potential employers and talent, said Graycen Bigger, Executive Director of NEA Intermodal. “This event supports our local businesses and allows applicants to learn about companies, job openings and available benefit packages in a convenient manner.”
