I pray in the mornings before I get on my school bus. I don’t pray on weekends, but I know I should. When I start my prayer, I thank God for blessing me with a new day and acknowledge to Him that I fully understand there is no guarantee I will have the whole day. Every day we live is a blessing from God. It is very important to live it as though it is our last. We do not know, and I am thankful for this, what hour we will be called home into eternity.
“I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 3:14
Each day we as Christians need to have purpose for Christ on our mind. What can we do today to give glory to God. Ask God to use you to touch someone’s life for Him. Ask Him to put someone in your path that needs help, maybe an encouraging word or help changing a flat tire. God works in mysterious ways, and he causes intersections in our lives with others to carry out His plan for our lives and theirs. It is called God Winks.
Be open to be used by God. Be very willing for it to be at an inconvenient time too. God’s timing is way different than ours. Yes, it may cause you to be late for work or late for an appointment, but it is far more important to listen to the Holy Spirit when He urges us to respond to His call. Your boss or doctor will understand. When we put God first, everything else seems to fall into place.
Be purposeful today in your walk with Jesus and listen closely for that whisper to urge you to help someone.
