Peach Cobbler

1 stick butter

¾ cup flour

⅛ teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon baking powder

½ cup sugar + additional for flavor adjustments

¾ cup milk

2 cups peaches with juice

Melt butter in oven-proof baking dish.  Sift flour, salt, and baking powder together; mix with ½ cup of sugar.  Stir in milk.  Pour batter over melted butter.  Do not stir.  Use additional sugar to sweeten peaches to taste, then pour over batter. Bake for 1 hour at 350°F or until top is pleasingly brown.
