The Peace Lutheran Church Christmas Craft Sale begins today and tomorrow on the grounds of the church will offer a one stop shop for those seeking that extra special Christmas gift for a loved one this year.

The Craft Sale will be open from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Nov. 10 and 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Nov. 11.

According to Pastor Brian Pummell, this is no ordinary sale, as the vendors are commuinty members who make handcrafted items in anticipation of the holdiays.

“We’ve done it once before. Last year, our ladies group wanted to try this to see if it would be a help to the community to have folks invited from the area that have the ability to produce hand made crafts and various items to be enjoyed for the holidays,” Pummell said.

A wide variety of vendors and items will await those who travel to the church to browse the wares.

“We wanted to offer different vendors from the community a place to do that and for them to be able to offer the community those items for sale and to have the enjoyment of those items together and to make it possible for the community to prepare a little ahead of time for Christmas,” Pummell said.

In addition to offering a place to shop, Pummell said there is a very special project this year to benefit the area youth.

“The various vendors, they will donate items to the Elves Workshop and that is a store for the kids. Those items can be purchased by kids who would like to be a ble to give gifts to their family or friends at a reasonable price,” Pummell said. “The money from the items the kids purchase goes to Rowdy’s House at the Highland School District, a special group that collect various things to help children in the school district. It’s a neat opportunity for people to come together as a community and to work together to help those with needs that are struggling right now.”
