Ozarka College and Black River Technical College (BRTC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that will give students the option to simultaneously enroll in Ozarka’s Precision Machining program and BRTC’s Gunsmithing program. The MOU allows for the sharing, transfer, and articulation of credits between the programs, and will further student progress towards certification and employment in the skilled trades.
“We are excited about this new partnership and the future of this program with BRTC”, Dr. Chris Lorch, Ozarka provost, said. “We are looking forward to seeing this agreement further advance the education and employability of students at both BRTC and Ozarka College.”

Ozarka College provides a high-quality precision machining program and a significant portion of the curriculum for the program overlaps with the gunsmithing curriculum at BRTC. This allows students to seamlessly transfer and efficiently complete their desired certifications and degree in gunsmithing in a timely manner.

The Ozarka College Precision Machining Technology certification prepares students for high-demand careers in manufacturing. Students learn skills in manual machining, along with the programming, set up and operation of CNC mills and lathes. Additionally, students will become proficient in blueprint reading and measurement application.
