Mountain View, Arkansas – The Ozark Folk Center State Park will host the Southern Regional Dulcimer Championship Contests, followed by evening music performances during the park’s Dulcimer Jamboree on April 24–25.

This annual event celebrates the unique and time-honored sounds of the mountain dulcimer and hammered dulcimer, featuring performances by some of the best players in the country. Concerts will take place at the Folk Center’s Ozark Highlands Theater on both nights from 7–9 p.m.

Performers include folksingers, songwriters, and national champions in their respective instruments, including Steve Eulberg, Colin Beasley, Kara Barnard, Rick Thum, Katie Moritz, Don Pedi, and Jess Dickinson.

Concert tickets are available online atTickets.OzarkFolkCenter.com for $15 (adults), $8 (children ages 6–12), and $35 (family pass). Day-of-show tickets will be available at the theater box office for $2 more. Ozark Folk Center Music & Craft Season Passes are honored for this event.

The Southern Regional Dulcimer Championships, sponsored by the Committee of One Hundred, are free to attend and will be held Friday from 5:30–6:45 p.m. and Saturday from 1:30–7 p.m.

“Dulcimer Jamboree is an event that’s near and dear to our hearts and our mission,” said Pam Setser, Chairwoman for Music & Crafts for the Committee of One Hundred. “I remember learning to play mountain dulcimer in Mountain View when I was just a teenager, and this event brings back so many of those precious memories. The committee and I are glad to see this event still going strong decades later, with a new generation of players carrying on the tradition.”

Three-day workshops for mountain dulcimer players during the jamboree are sold out, but a limited number of spots remain for beginner and advanced hammered dulcimer players. Registration fees include admission to both evening concerts and entry to the Craft Village during the event.
