The Hardy History Association (HHA) recently released its third edition of the Hardy Harold, the associations preservation of historical events pertaining to the City of Hardy and the actions of citizens throughout time.

Darlene Wilson, President of the HHA said in addition to the digital copies presented to members, hard copies are also available.

“We print a booklet style newsletter and it is about 36 pages. We have been printing those and the first one was the September [2020] issue and then again in December [2020]. We print them quarterly,” Wilson said. “This is Volume 2 Number 1 because it is our second year and the first issue.”

Wilson said dues paid members can acquire a hard copy of each edition for $14.

“That will include postage if we need to mail it to them. It comes out to $3.50 per book,” Wilson said.

For non-paid members, the cost is $20 for the four issues.

“These are printed on nice paper, folded and professionally stapled. They are well made,” Wilson said.

The books are comprised of a detailed account of each of the monthly meetings, the board minutes, stories shared by speakers and more.

“It is almost a verbatim writing of the program. Each meeting is included in an article format. We also include the treasurers report. There are also historical articles. In this issue, there are four or five of them,” Wilson said. “We publish obituaries of old time Hardy residents that have passed away. There is an old postcard past where old post cards will be in each issue. Also, a prominent family from Hardy will be featured in each issue.”
