A new group has formed in Spring River country offering new recreational opportunities.

The Cherokee Village and Area Corn Hole group will begin holding events beginning Dec. 6 at 6 p.m.at the old Hardy Gym.

According to organizer Tom Trumpy, the group will play every two weeks.

The fee to play will be $10 per night with the majority of the money going toward the prize fund.

“There will be some expenses taken out for the hall rental and we will have a small concession stand available,” Trumpy said.

Boards will be set up at 5:15 p.m. in order to give those in attendance time to get registered and to practice.

Trumpy said the group is also seeking to borrow some boards to help get started.

Currently Trumpy said the first day will feature six games going at a time, but more may be added.

The community is invited and encouraged to participate.

For those unable to make the Dec. 6 games, a second date of Dec. 20 is also scheduled.
