The national weather service is warning residents of northern Arkansas and southern Missouri of the potential for another round of severe weather Friday, May 16 and through the overnight hours in to Saturday May 17.
National Weather Service Forecaster Colby Pope said this storm system has been listed as an “all-hazards event.”
“Starting on Friday afternoon all the way into the nighttime hours on Friday there is the possibility of strong to severe thunderstorms that produce upwards of baseball size hail, 60 to 80 mph winds and even a couple of long track tornadoes,” Pope said. “This is an all-hazards event, so you’ll want several ways to get the latest warnings especially as you go to sleep because this is going to be an overnight event as well. Starting Friday afternoon and running through Friday night.”
Be sure to review your safety plan with your family, have a weather radio handy, take measures to protect outdoor pets and livestock. Make sure your safe place is stocked with water, food, flashlight and other necessities.
