A Freeze Warning has been issued for north central Arkansas including Sharp, Izard and Fulton Counties extending from late Wednesday Nov. 3 through the morning of Nov. 4. Sub-freezing temperatures are likely.

The National Weather Service at Little Rock, Ark. reminds that, “Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.” It will be important to, “Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold. To prevent freezing and possible bursting of outdoor water pipes they should be wrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly. Those that have in-ground sprinkler systems should drain them and cover above-ground pipes to protect them from freezing.”

Additional counties that might be affected are: Boone, Marion, Baxter, Randolph, Newton, Searcy, Stone, Independence, Lawrence, Van Buren, and Cleburne.
