There are several events happening in the Spring River area the coming days beginning with a Healthy Eating Workshop hosted by Baxter Regional Physical Therapy Clinic at Hardy at the Peace Lutheran Church in Hardy March 18 at 1 p.m.
The event will feature several health experts who will provide information on practical and actionable ways to adopt a healthy eating lifestyle and what foods can help.
On Saturday, March 19, several events are scheduled as well beginning with the Sharp County Fair Association’s Junk n Jam slated for Saturday, March 19 at the Sharp County Fairgrounds from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m.
The event will feature vendors selling a wide variety of items including handmade items, flea market items, crafts, jewelry, businesses and more.
Concessions will also be available all day through the Sharp County Fair Fundraising Committee.
The Sidney St. Patrick’s Day festivities kick off at 9 a.m. with a poker run that goes till noon, food vendors and other activities begin at 10 a.m. and the parade will take place at 1 a.m.
Also taking place March 19 are a spaghetti fundraiser to benefit the McCoullum family from 11 to 1 p.m. at the B.A.S.I.C (Brothers and Sisters in Christ) Church located across from Hardy City Hall on Woodland Hills Road in Hardy.
Sharp County Search and Rescue will host a Skywarn weather spotting class from 10 a.m. until noon at the Cherokee Village City Hall in Cherokee Village. The class is free to those would like to attend.
Beginning at 1 p.m. at the Hardy Senior Center, NAFF will hold their regular meeting which is open to the public and will provide an opportunity for the public to meet local candidates running for public office.
The Horseshoe Bend Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual membership dinner beginning at 5 p.m. at the M.R.I.D. Clubhouse in Horseshoe Bend. There will be a meet and greet the candidates event at 5 p.m. followed by dinner and a cake and pie auction. Admission is $10 a person and may be purchased at the door, all proceeds benefit the Horseshoe Bend Chamber of Commerce.
The Main Street Hardy Spring Gun and Knife show slated for March 26 and 27 is also quickly approaching. The event will be held at the Old Hardy Gym with doors opening at 9 a.m. both days. The cost to enter is $5 per person and covers both days. The event is a buy, sell and trade show.
For Every Dog Rescue will hold a yard sale at the Highland Fire Department to raise funds for the shelter March 25 through 27 with an adoption event to take place March 26. The event will run from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. each day.
A Social Media seminar will be held at Highland Assembly of God March 26 from 10:45 to 11:45. Doors open at 10:30. The event is free to the public and will feature Genevieve Strickland from the Morgan Nick Foundation who will share information regarding social media safety, apps which put children at risk, ways you may be putting a child at risk unintentionally and more.
Safe Night Ministries for Domestic Violence Victims and the House of Luke Len’s Discipleship will hold a yard sale/bake sale to benefit their programs March 26 beginning at 7 a.m., at the Abundant Life Church located at 200 Hospital Drive in Cherokee Village.
A Seed Swap/ Seed Library event will be held March 26 at Loberg Park in Hardy at 3 p.m. The public is welcome to attend, bring seeds to exchange or share, ideas or questions when you come.
The New Heat Quartet Gosple Music Group will be a the Cherokee Village United Methodist Church in Cherokee Village March 26 at 6 p.m. The event is open to the public and a love offering will be accepted. Non-perishable food items are also being accepted at the door to benefit the North Sharp County Ministerial Alliance Food Pantry.
