Medical Marijuana sales surpass $330 million; Spring River Dispensary keeping stride

The latest numbers are in regarding sales of medical marijuana in the State of Arkansas and according to Scott Hardin a spokesperson with the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Commission, Arkansas has seen more than $330 million in total sales.

 

“Since the first dispensary opened in mid-2019, Arkansans have spent $330.4 million to obtain 48,914 pounds of medical marijuana,” Hardin said. “We anticipate sales will surpass 50,000 pounds within the next week.”

 

Hardin said The Releaf Center in Bentonville is the first to reach and exceed sales of 5,000 pounds of medical marijuana since opening in August of 2019. 

 

Arkansas is home to 33 dispensaries throughout the state with an additional five working toward opening for business. 

“[In total,] 38 dispensaries have been licensed,” Hardin said. “The five working toward opening are 3J Investments [Lamar], Natural Root Wellness [Fayetteville], Pine Bluff Agriceuticals [Pine Bluff….approved to open by ABC, will open this month], MisscoCannabis [Jonesboro] and Natures Herbs and Wellness [Pine Bluff.”

 

Statewide, the Arkansas Department of Health reports 77,092 medical marijuana patients with active patient cards. 

 

Locally, the Spring River Dispensary in Hardy was opened on January 7, 2021.

 

Since opening, although it is the second most recent dispensary to open in the state, the company has sold 253.55 pounds of medical marijuana, surpassing sales of several other dispensaries in the state which were opened in 2020.

 Since Fiddler’s Green (Mountain View) first opened on Thursday, July 11, 2019, the company sold 2,253.49 pounds of medical marijuana.
