A man is facing charges in Fulton County after introducing Fentanyl into his wife’s IV line while she was in the hospital.
According to the affidavit for arrest filed July 8 for 54-year-old James Holloway; on June 16, the victim was a patient at Fulton County Hospital and was admitted for testing.
At the time, she was alert and coherent and had not had any visitors.
The following morning, just after 9:30 a.m., Holloway came to the victim’s room, stayed a few minutes and then exited to the lobby.
Nurses stated the victim suddenly became unresponsive, gurgling and foaming at the mount.
A rapid response was called and the victim received treatment of Narcan.
A blood test showed Fentanyl in her system.
While doctors and nurses were attempting to administer treatment, Holloway was screaming and cussing the team, claiming he’d only given his wife ibuprofen.
Hours later, when she resumed a coherent state, the victim told hospital personnel that Holloway and given her “a Cathy” in her IV.
Holloway was banned and escorted from the property but returned the following day at which time he was arrested and taken to the Fulton County Jail on charges of criminal trespass.
As a result of the June 13 incident, Holloway faces the charge of introducing a controlled substance into the body of another, a class Y felony. His bond has been set at $50,000.
